I was praying no one in the Weasley family would die, but J.K. Rowling had to go and kill Fred.
Even if the movies never really gave much emphasis to the crazy/funny antics of the Weasley twins, book readers like me will always appreciate the laughs they gave... no one can beat the "hole-y" punchline.
Having said this, I'll just post my fave Weasley twins excerpt from The Half-Blood Prince:
"You two," she went on, gazing down at Fred and George, "are about to learn what happens to wrongdoers in my school."
"You know what?" said Fred. "I don't think we are."
He turned to his twin."George," said Fred, "I think we've outgrown a full-time education."
"Yeah, I've been feeling that way myself," said George lightly.
"Time to test our talents in the real world, d'you reckon?" asked Fred.
"Definitely," said George.
And before Umbridge could say a word, they raised their wants and said together, "Accio Brooms!"
Harry heard a loud crash somewhere in the distance. Looking to his left he ducked just in time -- Fred and George's broomsticks, one still trailing the heavy chain and iron peg with which Umbridge had fastened them to the wall, were hurtling along the corridor toward their owners. They turned left, streaked down the stairs, and stopped sharply in front of the twins, the chain clattering loudly on the flagged stone floor.
"We won't be seeing you," Fred told Professor Umbridge, swinging his leg over his broomstick.
"Yeah, don't bother to keep in touch," said George, mounting his own.
Fred looked around at the assembled students, and at the silent, watchful crowd."If anybody fancies buying a Portable Swamp, as demonstrated upstairs, come to number ninety-three Diagon Alley - Weasley's Wizard Wheezes," he said in a loud voice. "Our new premises!"
"Special discounts to Hogwarts students who swear they're going to use our products to get rid of this old bat," said George, pointing at Professor Umbridge.
"STOP THEM!" shrieked Umbridge, but it was too late.
As the Inquisitorial Squad closed in, Fred and George kicked off from the floor, shooting fifteen feet into the air, the iron peg swinging dangerously below. Fred looked across the hall at the poltergeist bobbing on his level above the crowd."Give her hell from us, Peeves."
And Peeves, whom Harry had never seen take an order from a student before, swept his belled hat from his head and sprang to a salute as Fred and George wheeled about to tumultuous applause from the students below and sped out of the open front doors into the glorious sunset.

-The Harry Potter books have sold 325 million copies internationally and are translated into 64 languages.
-Briton Rowling, who wrote the first Potter book as a single mother receiving state benefits, has made an estimated $1 billion dollars from the works, the first of which appeared 10 years ago.
She has spoken of how she "absolutely howled" when she was writing the final parts of "Deathly Hallows" in an Edinburgh hotel earlier this year.
-"I was in a hotel room on my own, sobbing my heart out," she told BBC television. "I downed half a bottle of champagne in one and went home with mascara all over my face. It was really tough."
-Rowling, who will now work on other writing projects, has not completely ruled out a new Potter book, although she says it is highly unlikely.
-At least two million people worldwide have pre-ordered copies from online retailer Amazon.
-And Royal Mail, Britain's postal delivery service, expects to deliver one copy to every 43 homes across Britain Saturday and has laid on 180 extra trucks.
-The book will be released simultaneously around the world except in the United States, Canada and Mexico, when it will go on sale in Britain at 12:01 a.m.
-Harry Potter vs. the Sabbath:
Israel's ultra-Orthodox minister of trade and industry has threatened to sue any shop opening on the Jewish Sabbath to sell Book 7.“We must put a limit on the desire to imitate other countries,” he told said. “It is inconceivable that numerous employees will be brought in to allow these events to take place and damage the spirit of Shabbat. I plan to file charges and fine anyone who violates the Hours of Work and Rest Law.” In spite of this, most Israeli bookstores are willing to face the ire of the religious community and are opening up at 2:01am (12:01am BST) to sell the book.
- Combined, the first four Harry Potter films have grossed more than $3.5 billion worldwide. The first film, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, is the fourth all-time highest grossing film worldwide.
-The Warner Bros. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Web site drew 446,762 unique visitors in May 2007.

I got the book around 7:05 am at the Dumaguete branch of National Bookstore. Dirg, who I agreed to meet up with at 6:45 am (hehe, whoops) woke up at 5:30 am, got there way ahead of me, and promptly left me to buy it alone. Already had it reserved. There weren't a lot of people buying the book (soooo early), but there was this one girl who actually had on wizard robes (such a contrast with my shorts and hastily ponytailed hair).
Read all morning, catched glimpses of pages during cheerdance practice (yes, masscom finally has a cheerdance team), and read on till 9pm. After I finished the 538 pages, I was jumping up and down.
Perfect, perfect ending to all the Harry Potter books I read in Japan. I actually only became a fan when the library at Ferris University had a fantasy section to encourage all those rich Japanese girls to read English books. I read the first five, bought the sixth and the seventh.
After I jumped up and down screaming, I slowed down.
The magic was over. Harry Potter was over. Awwww crap!
Ouch.

'ear, 'ear....
uuummm.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that excerpt of Fred and George supposed to be from the 5th book, The Order of the Pheonix? Coz if I remembered right, in the start of the 6th book, Fred and George aren't in Hogwarts anymore, but is running a shop in Diagon Alley (with their prank shop).
And Umbridge wasn't in the 6th book, she was on the 5th. =)
just wanted to say that.
